July 18, 2022: Our article titled “Periodic Grain Boundary Grooves: Analytic Model, Formation Energies, and Phase-Field Comparison”  commemorating Prof. John Morral is published in the special edition of Journal of Phase Equilibria and Diffusion.

May 11, 2022: Our joint article with Prof. Nikhilesh Chawla’s group at Purdue titled “Predicting the Cu6Sn5 Growth Kinetics During Thermal Aging of Cu-Sn Solder Joints Using Simplistic Kinetic Modeling” published in the Journal of Electronic Materials.

February 8, 2022: Our article titled “Quantifying microstructural evolution via time-dependent reduced-dimension metrics based on hierarchical n-point polytope functions” published in Physical Review E.

January 12, 2022: Dr. Ankit has been awarded the NSF CAREER award for his proposal titled “Understanding the origins of pearlite discontinuities in eutectoid microstructures: Modeling & Experiments”. This $560,000 award, which integrates computational, experimental, and 4D characterization techniques, will allow for an organized study examining breaks in the layered microstructures of Pearlitic steels and the atomic interactions that produce them.  

2021

October 2, 2019: 4D ICE was well represented at the Materials Science & Technology 2019 meeting in Portland with Ankita Roy, Rahul Raghavan, William Farmer, and Dr. Ankit presenting at the oral sessions.
