His keen interest in the field of electron microscopy led him to the group. His project involves <strong>characterization and study of photocatalytic activities of mixed metal oxides using <em>in situ<\/em> electron microscopy and electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS)<\/strong>. He is also working on studying oxygen vacancy defects and dopant migration in metal oxide materials with high time resolution imaging and EELS.<\/p>\n        \n\n        \n        <p>He finished B.Tech from National Institute of Technology Durgapur and M.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi. His M.Tech dissertation was titled \u201cSurface engineering: Modification of Surface Morphology by Severe Plastic Deformation and Surface Coating\u201d. In this study, he characterized ultrasonically shot peened samples&nbsp;with X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy coupled with image simulations. Convergent beam electron diffraction&nbsp;technique was used to understand the effect of residual strain and its evolution with shot peening.
