wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AI and machine learning<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The rapidly growing field of artificial intelligence, or AI, and machine learning encompasses a variety of applications in electrical engineering. Electrical and computer engineers also design the backbone of AI and machine learning: Programs and algorithms run on semiconductor chips designed by electrical and computer engineers for software needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to researching how to make better AI chips, electrical engineering faculty in the Ira A.
