* Manogna has attended the 2017 CROSSCUTTING RESEARCH & RARE EARTH ELEMENTS PORTFOLIOS REVIEW MEETING at Pittsburgh. She presented her work titled “MFIX-DEM PHI: Performance and Capability Improvements Towards Industrial Grade Open-Source Framework with Integrated Uncertainty Quantification.”

*Jason and Bryan successfully defended their FURI projects and graduated. 

* Jocelyn has been awarded the 2nd best poster in the Biomedical and Health Sciences category at the Arizona Science Fair competition 2016. She presented a poster titled “The Effectiveness of Pill Splitting for Name Brand and Generic Acetaminophen Tablets of Different Strengths” based on the research he performed within the group as a part of The SCience and ENgineering Experience (SCENE) program for the 2015-1016 school year.

* DOE- MFIX award: One of the Twelve DOE Selected Projects for Crosscutting Technology Research Funding.

In partner with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Sandia National Laboratories to improve the performance and capabilities of Multiphase Flow with Interphase eXchanges-Discreet Element Model (MFIX-DEM) leading to the industrial adoption of the open source. MFIX is open-source software that has become the standard for comparing, implementing and evaluating multiphase flow models.
