Using computational chemistry to design materials to facilitate renewable energy generation with a focus on reduction and oxidation reactions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n

Our group aims to understand and design materials which facilitate renewable energy and fuel generation and storage and environmental remediation applications, with a focus on reduction and oxidation reactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through computational chemistry methods we develop fundamental understandings of how materials interaction with chemical reactions, specifically what materials aspects promote desired reactions characteristics (i.e. rates and energetic) and which suppress them. Through this understanding we engineer new material which enhance desirable behaviors while minimizing undesirable ones. Our experiments are used to validate the computational findings and lead us to new discoveries.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
