Barkson Fellowship<\/a>&nbsp;from the Ira A Fulton Schools of Engineering for the Academic 2022-2023 Year, for the second time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2021<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/faculty.engineering.asu.edu\/pal\/people\/#:~:text=and%20varied%20accomplishments.-,Fakhri%20Saadedeen,-Graduated%20%7C%20Engineer%20at\">Fakhri Saadedeen<\/a>\u2018s&nbsp;<\/strong>paper \u201cGPS Spoofing Attacks on PMUs Practical Feasibility and Counter Measures\u201d was chosen as the third-best paper at the <a href=\"https:\/\/na.eventscloud.com\/website\/22926\/home\/\">53rd Power Symposium<\/a> held in November 2021 by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/engineering.tamu.edu\/electrical\/index.html\">Texas A&amp;M\u2019s Electrical and Computer Engineering<\/a>&nbsp;department.&nbsp; Outstanding student research presentations were awarded to student authors who presented phenomenal research contributions at the conference and we are excited that Freddie was selected for such an esteemed honor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/faculty.engineering.asu.edu\/pal\/people\/#:~:text=learning.%E2%80%9D%20%E2%80%93%20Richard%20Feynman-,Behrouz%20Azimian,-Graduate%20Research%20Associate\">Behrouz Azimian<\/a>&nbsp;Awarded&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/graduate.engineering.asu.edu\/fellowships\/\">Joseph A. Barkson Fellowship<\/a>&nbsp;from the Ira A Fulton Schools of Engineering for the Academic 2021-2022 Year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/faculty.engineering.asu.edu\/pal\/people\/#:~:text=Jairo%20Ram%C3%ADrez%20Torres\">Jairo Ramirez Torres<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>is one of 72 undergraduate students chosen internationally as an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ee-scholarship.org\/about-the-scholarship\/pes-scholars\/2021-22-pes-scholars\">IEEE PES-Scholar<\/a> for the academic 2021-2022 school year.&nbsp; A merit-based scholarship, his high academic achievement, distinctive extracurricular activities, and interest in the Power and Energy field led Jairo to be chosen as one of seven students from Arizona State University this year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/faculty.engineering.asu.edu\/pal\/people\/#:~:text=learning.%E2%80%9D%20%E2%80%93%20Richard%20Feynman-,Behrouz%20Azimian,-Graduate%20Research%20Associate\">Behrouz Azimian<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>has been awarded the Al Gross Award from the IEEE Phoenix Section for the 2021 year.&nbsp; This student scholarship is provided by the IEEE Phoenix Section for full-time graduate and undergraduate IEEE student members and it is based on both academic achievements and contributions made to IEEE.&nbsp; This conferment is a special honor among the IEEE Phoenix Section and the lab extends our congratulations to Behrouz.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/faculty.engineering.asu.edu\/pal\/people\/#:~:text=Leonardo%20Da%20Vinci-,Shiva%20Moshtagh,-Graduate%20Research%20Associate\">Shiva Moshtagh<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>has been awarded the Fulton Fellowship from the Ira A. Both gentlemen were nominated by the ECEE program and FSE to receive this award and it was offered in&nbsp;recognition of their extraordinary academic achievements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/faculty.engineering.asu.edu\/pal\/people\/#:~:text=learning.%E2%80%9D%20%E2%80%93%20Richard%20Feynman-,Behrouz%20Azimian,-Graduate%20Research%20Associate\"><strong>Behrouz Azimian<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;was the 2021 Awardee for the Digital Portfolio award from the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/gpsa.asu.edu\/\">ASU Graduate &amp; Professional Student Association<\/a>&nbsp;for the 2021 year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/faculty.engineering.asu.edu\/pal\/people\/#:~:text=harmony.%E2%80%9D%20%E2%80%93%20Mahatma%20Gandhi-,Demetra%20Salls,-Graduate%20Research%20Associate\"><strong>Demetra Salls<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;was chosen to receive an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/graduate.asu.edu\/current-students\/funding-opportunities\/awards-and-fellowships\/interdisciplinary-enrichment-fellowship\">Interdisciplinary Enrichment Fellowship<\/a>&nbsp;from Arizona State University to support her study towards a Master\u2019s degree in Electrical Engineering in the 2021-2022 academic year.&nbsp; The fellowship is a merit-based award to support under-represented students who demonstrate academic excellence and have a mindset focused on social impact and creative collaboration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Tasha Reynolds<\/strong>&nbsp;was the Fall 2020 Demo Day Winner in her Entrepreneur &amp; Value Creation (FSE301) class competition with approximately 150 students.&nbsp; She created and live-pitched a five-minute deck for her team\u2019s Senior Capstone project that was voted by peers and judges to be the number one innovation pitch in the class.&nbsp; Winning the most votes resulted in a $1000 scholarship being awarded to the team. This scholarship will enable him to pursue his Master\u2019s degree at Oxford University (UK) from Fall 2017.
