Mariana obtained a B.S. in Environmental Science with a concentration in Chemistry at the University of Texas at El Paso where she worked as a research assistant for three years analyzing the effects of Copper nanoparticles in Zucchini and sugarcane plants. Following graduation, Mariana worked for two years in a chemistry lab for Freeport-McMoran. Her current project is to advance pervaporation as a solution for inland desalination.
