August 2025:<\/strong> Our group is awarded its first collaborative grant<\/strong> from Applied Materials (AMAT) with Tongay lab and a conference grant as a sole PI<\/strong> from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Excited to begin work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

August 2025<\/strong>: Mahir wins the second prize for his poster at M&M 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

July 2025<\/strong>: Mahir wins the pre-meeting congress travel award from the MSA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

June 2025<\/strong>: Patrick wins the SEMTE travel award and the MSA Student Council Boots on the Ground travel funding. He will use this to attend the ptychography summer school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May 2025<\/strong>: Sandhya wins the prestigious Scialog fellowship<\/strong> in Quantum Matter and Information to be held in October 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May 2025<\/strong>: Patrick, Sriram and Mahir win the ASU graduate college student travel awards to attend the M&M 2025 meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

April 2025<\/strong>: Patrick wins the prestigious student scholar award from MSA to be presented to him in August 2025 at M&M. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

March 2025<\/strong>: Patrick passes his comprehensive exam on “Electron Microscopy of Defects in Low- and High-Pressure Phases of Layered Materials”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

February 2025<\/strong>: Sandhya wins the prestigious Albert Crewe Award<\/strong> from the Microscopy Society of America (MSA) to be presented to her in August 2025 at M&M.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

January 2025: <\/strong>Mahir wins Physics graduate travel award to present his research at the Ferro2025 Workshop on Fundamental Physics of Ferroelectrics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

December 2024<\/strong>: Annual update on publications: 4 journals articles, and 5 conference proceedings, out of which 8 are ones where Susarla group students have actively participated in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

November 2024: <\/strong>Kshitish defends his masters thesis on Growth and characterization of room temperature topological magnetic materials. He now will leave the group and work with Jason Khoury at ASU. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

October 2024<\/strong>: Sriya, a high school student joins the group via the SCENE program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

July 2024: <\/strong>Mahir, and Sriram present posters and Patrick presents his first talk at M&M 2024. Patrick won the second prize in the imaging contest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

June 2024: <\/strong>Sriram, Patrick and Mahir win ASU graduate college travel awards to present their research at the M&M 2024 meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May 2024<\/strong>: Two undergraduate, Triston and Preston, majoring in Applied Physics join Susarla group to work over the summer<\/h6>\n\n\n\n
April 2024<\/strong>: Surya Prakash Reddy successfully defends his masters thesis on “Transmission electron microscopy in halide perovskites”<\/h6>\n\n\n\n
March 2024<\/strong>: Nnemaka joins presents a poster at the SCENE symposium<\/h6>\n\n\n\n
November 2023<\/strong>: Tochukwu, an undergraduate senior joins Susarla group<\/h6>\n\n\n\n
September 2023<\/strong>: Nnemaka joins as a part of the SCENE program <\/h6>\n\n\n\n
August 2023: Sriram converts into a PhD student with Fulton Fellowship and joins Susarla group<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Sriram will work on excitonic properties in the two-dimensional moir\u00e9 systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

July 2023: Patrick and Sriram present their first posters at the Microscopy and Microanalysis (M&M) meeting 2024 <\/h5>\n\n\n\n
June 2023: Our ORNL user proposal selected<\/h5>\n\n\n\n
May 2023: Our LBNL user proposal selected<\/h5>\n\n\n\n
April 2023: Surya presents MORE poster <\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Surya presented his poster on Analysis of Vibrational EELS Datasets to Unravel the Nanoscale Ferroelectric-Ferroelastic Coupling in Oxides. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

March 2023: Badar joins Susarla group <\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Badar is a sophomore who will primarly assist in sample preparation <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feb 2023: Kshitish joins Susarla group <\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Kshitish is a first year Master’s student with Mechanical Engineering Major. He will work on 2D magnetic materials. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jan 2023: Mahir joins Susarla group <\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Mahir is first year physics student who will work on imaging phonons modes in ferroelectric materials. Welcome Mahir!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nov 2022: Surya wins the MORE Fellowship <\/h5>\n\n\n\n

He will work on the data analysis of phonon EELS spectra<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aug 24, 2022: Susarla group welcomes masters student, Sriram <\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Sriram has joined the group in Fall 2022 . He will work on the drift correction in images. Welcome Sriram! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aug 19, 2022: Susarla group welcomes masters student, Surya<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Surya has joined the group in Fall 2022. He will work data analysis of vibrational EELS datasets. Welcome Surya! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aug 18, 2022: Sandhya gives an invited talk at Foundry user meeting<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Sandhya presented her postdoctoral work on Imaging Excitons at the nanoscale the Foundry Annual User Meeting <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aug 15, 2022<\/strong>: Sajib Dhar joins the Susarla group <\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Sajib obtained his undergraduate degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. He has joined Susarla group to work on exploring atomic scale correlated properties of complex oxides. Welcome Sajib! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aug 10, 2022<\/strong>: Patrick joins the Susarla group <\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Patrick completed his bachelors and masters from Arizona State University. He will jointly advised by Prof. Susarla and Prof. Tongay.
