Side Emitting Optical Fiber Technology Wins $10k at ASU Venture Devils Spring 2020 Competition
Mariana Lopes pitched our technology to prevent pathogen and biofilm growth in home water systems, including point of use devices. During the Venture Devils Demo Day competition the start-up company received $10,000 to continue building the technology into a company (see timestamp 57:20 during the award ceremony).
Environmental Professions of Arizona Awards Juliana Levi their Annual Scholarship
EPAZ awards their 2020 scholarship of $2000 to PhD student Juliana Levi (Chemical Engineer) from the Westerhoff group. The scholarships come with cash awards aimed to recognize their excellence in research. Juliana Levi is part of the NSF Nanosystems ERC for nanotechnology enabled water treatment (NEWT).
