Azadeh Doroudchi

Ph. D. Candidate

I am currently working on dynamic modeling and control of soft robots that are inspired by invertebrates like octopuses and are constructed with soft materials like hydrogels. Material and biology inspiration are two important aspects of the design that affect the robot’s dynamics and control. By considering local sensing and actuation along the robotic arm, we can achieve a closer performance to the animals’ locomotion. Thus, I consider decentralized control strategies as well.
I have experience in simulation, modeling, and control of smart materials like SMAs in my master’s. I studied my bachelor’s in control major and I am familiar with PLC programming.
