Dr. Hyunwoong Ko is actively recruiting motivated Ph.D. students. Qualified candidates will be financially supported with full research assistantship. Research will focus on state-of-the-art Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for advanced Additive Manufacturing (AM), such as Aerosol Jet and Laser Powder Bed Fusion, or other emerging, manufacturing or engineering applications. Specific topics may cover one or more of the subtopics:
- Causal analytics based on explainable machine learning and hybrid (physics-informed and data-driven) modeling
- Digitization of physical, real entities and properties using data fusion, integration, and registration
- Data-driven process characterization and uncertainty quantification
- Data-driven decision-support for design, in-situ monitoring and control, or ex-situ evaluation
- AI models for real-time, cyber-physical, manufacturing systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. degree in engineering, statistics, or computer science;
- International students need to meet the English proficiency requirement.
