Welcome to Dr. Mark Wang’s research group at the School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering (SBHSE), Arizona State University. 

Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases remain leading causes of death and disability worldwide. Although important advances have been made over the past several decades, current strategies for diagnosis and treatment still fall short of clinical needs. The Wang Laboratory is dedicated to harnessing molecular and cellular engineering, together with biomaterials-based approaches, to develop nanoscale therapeutic and imaging platforms for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Our overarching goal is to translate these discoveries into precision nanomedicine approaches that improve patient care and outcomes.
