Shafaq earned her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences and a master’s in Biology from ASU’s 4+1 program. Her master’s research at the Arizona Cancer Evolution Center sparked her interest in cancer biology, and she will be working on advancing breast cancer research using tumor-on-a-chip technology under the mentorship of Dr. Mehdi Nikkhah and Dr. Joshua Labaer.
