Gamze Ersan

Postdoctoral Researcher (co-advised with Sergi Garcia-Segura)

Dr. Gamze Ersan is ASEE Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment at Arizona State University (ASU). She received her Ph.D. degree from the Department of Environmental Engineering in 2014 at Istanbul University, Turkey. During her Ph.D. appointment, she received Overseas Graduate Scholarship program and worked as a visiting researcher at Clemson University. After graduation, she earned ‘Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey grant fellowship’ and re-joined Clemson University as a postdoctoral researcher. Dr. Ersan is an expert on the adsorption and Linear Solvation Energy Relationship (LSER) modeling of several conventional and novel adsorbents (e.g., granular activated carbons, carbon nanotubes and graphene nanosheets). Her recent research interest at ASU includes the novel hybrid electrochemical processes for the regeneration of PFAS-laden carbon-based adsorbents.
