Brittney Hauke
Brittney joined the group in the Fall of 2017 and is currently in her first year of the Ph.D. program. She is working on materials synthesis for two projects: studying grain boundaries of calcium-doped ceria for solid oxide fuel cells and creating perovskites that form cubed nanoparticles.
Brittney received her Bachelor’s Degree from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with dual degrees in physics and studio art. Her undergraduate research focused on tellurium dioxide glasses, including work with the University of Nottingham and a summer internship at Corning Incorporated in upstate New York.
Beyond research, Brittney served as a Writing Center consultant, held leadership roles in Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, and was active in the Physics Club. She contributed to Sigma Pi Sigma’s 2016 Physcon Planning Committee and serves on the 2019 Physcon executive committee. A Wisconsin native, she enjoys reading, art, video games, and adapting to Arizona’s climate.
