Claire Block

Claire is a third-year Materials Science undergraduate at Arizona State University (ASU). She joined the group in December 2019 and collaborates with Joshua Vincent on analyzing TEM images of platinum nanoparticles in various gas environments. Her research focuses on nanomaterials for renewable energy/sustainability applications and nanomechanics.

She is pursuing a Cross-Sector Leadership certificate through ASU’s Public Service Academy to understand multidisciplinary solutions for challenges like climate change. Post-graduation, Claire plans to begin a Materials Science PhD program. Outside academics, she enjoys reading, playing the piano, learning, and exploring.
