Hands-on lab support to help you launch, scale and maintain your research space

What we do

Research Support Services (RSS) provides practical, on-site assistance for lab equipment, infrastructure and custom fabrication across the Fulton Schools.

Our team works closely with FSE Facilities, Safety, and school lab managers to keep projects safe, efficient and aligned with ASU standards.

What RSS supports

Research Support Services can assist you with:

  • Example foldableMoving and placing heavy equipment.
  • Leveling and anchoring items.
  • Connecting equipment to power and utilities (non-permitted work) card inner contents. Add paragraphs as needed.

  • Custom lab furniture and tops.
  • Welding, metalwork, woodwork.
  • Brackets, fixtures and prototype parts.

  • Carpet installation.
  • Patch-and-paint.
  • Light remodels and wall installations.

  • Prepping lab spaces for experiment setup.
  • Troubleshooting infrastructure constraints.
  • Supporting equipment installs with Safety and EHS.

  • You’re setting up or relocating lab equipment
  • You need help planning layout and infrastructure
  • You require custom enclosures or lab furniture
  • You’re preparing for startup or lab renovations
  • You’re unsure whether your equipment needs power upgrades, leveling or mounting
  • RSS can also serve as a training resource for graduate students and researchers who want to learn best practices for lab infrastructure.
