New manuscript accepted in Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research (I&ECR)
Alexis’ paper on silica nanoparticle-loaded PEG networks was accepted for publication in I&ECR. This work includes a collaboration with researchers at the Army Research Laboratory at Aberdeen Proving Ground. Also, this paper will be highlighted in a virtual special issue on the 2019 Class of Influential Researchers! Congratulations!
New manuscript accepted in Water Research!
Varun’s paper studying the effects of exposure to chlorinated water on polypropylene, polyethylene, and polystyrene was accepted for publication in Water Research! Congratulations!
Our FY2019 DURIP proposal was funded!
We will purchase a cryo-ultramicrotome with the funds received through the 2019 DURIP to expand the material preparation capabilities at ASU. This will extend access to the incredible microscopy facilities at ASU to soft materials, composites, and biological specimens. Congratulations to the other recipients: link
Alexis selected to participate in 2019 summer DAAD RISE program in Germany!
Undergraduate researcher Alexis Hocken has been selected to participate in the 2019 DAAD Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE) program this summer. She will be off to Jena, Germany. Congratulations!!
Our collaborative proposal to develop a new direct air capture technology was funded by ARPA-E!!
We will collaborate with Klaus Lackner (ASU), Rob Stirling (ASU), and Benny Freeman (UT-Austin) to develop new polymer materials that can be processed into large surface area membranes and capture carbon dioxide from the air! This 3-year project was funded by ARPA-E.
Matt’s proposal to the NSF CAREER program was awarded!
A proposal to study how electrostatic interactions can be tuned and manipulated to control morphology and rheological properties was funded by the DMR Polymers program.
Our collaborative proposal with the AZ Mayo Clinic was funded!
We are working with researchers and clinicians at the AZ Mayo Clinic to better understand the assembly and dynamics of lipid-inhibitor complexes!
Our work on CO2 removal technologies for NASA was highlighted by ASU!
ASU Engineering recently wrote an article for Full Circle to highlight our work as part of the NASA Early Career Faculty Award to make new and improved CO2 removal systems to enable deep space missions.
Our paper on TiS3(1-x)Se3x Trichalcogenides is published in Nanoscale!
Our team contributed to a publication titled, “Anomalous Isoelectronic Chalcogen Rejection in 2D Anisotropic vdW TiS3(1-x)Se3x Trichalcogenides” which appeared online in Nanoscale today.
Our proposal to study fouling resistant membranes was funded by the NSF!
Our team submitted a proposal to the NSF titled, “Fouling resistant, freestanding zwitterionic polysulfones for osmotically driven membrane processes” which was selected for funding!
