The aim of this project is to prioritize carbon capture and storage by harnessing the properties of biocompatible polymers and cyanobacteria. This innovative process employs a conveyor belt-like mechanism in which the polymers, in their dry state, absorb CO2. Upon exposure to water, these polymers then release the captured CO2. Subsequently, the cyanobacteria utilize this released CO2, transforming it into eco-friendly materials. This offers a tangible, biologically-based strategy to offset the impact of climate change.
