PhD Student
Bio

Rana Hakari is a doctoral student in biomedical engineering and holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Arizona State University, where she completed a thesis-based master’s under Dr. Thurmon Lockhart. Her research focuses on biomechanics and human movement, including gait analysis and heart rate variability complexity. Rana collaborates with the MORE Foundation at The CORE Institute, where she began as an intern and has contributed to gait analysis research and a manuscript on stair descent after total knee arthroplasty. She has served as a teaching and instructional aide for more than eight biomedical engineering courses, and as an undergraduate she led a capstone team developing a breast lesion localization solution with Becton Dickinson.
