With the help of Dr. Linshuang Long, Prof. Wang spent last two weeks in the lab to complete the assembly and testing of our home-built AFM. Finally after the initial design 3 years ago, we have our very first AFM scanning image of microscale grating sample! This home-built AFM will be further developed for advanced near-field optics and thermal radiation measurements!

Congrats lab alumnus, Dr. Yue Yang, currently an Assistant Professor at Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen Graduate School, for winning the Shenzhen Oversea High Level Program, also called “Peacock Plan”. Prof. Yang is awarded with 3 million Chinese dollars as lab startup fund, and 1.5 million Chinese dollars for personal allocation. We are so happy for Yue and look forward to his new research…
