Andy Chieng

PhD Candidate

Andy Chieng has been involved in research for three years as an undergraduate at California State University: Los Angeles, and is currently earning a Ph.D. at Arizona State University in Chemistry. Primarily working in the field of analytical chemistry, Andy has been working in the development and application of analytical techniques to expand the repertoire of research, industry, and diagnostics and further understanding on biological processes and molecules. Since working with scanning ion conductance microscopy and atomic force microscopy to study the behavior of cellular membranes under stimuli in his undergraduate, Andy is currently helping to develop charge sensitive optical detection, a new novel technique for the detection of low mass biological molecules.
